At LifeStart, we believe in transforming the workplace through wellness.
We believe in meeting every member at their current activity level, from sedentary to athletic. We've done it for 28 years and counting. And we believe in the power of our certified health coaches and dietitians to coach each member to achieve their goals.
Because everyone deserves to reach their fullest potential.
To live life well ...
... and here's how we do it:
A Different Approach
A Higher Standard
A Culture of Well-Being
A Reduction in Costs

We're not a typical corporate fitness center and amenity management company. We don't focus solely on providing exercise programs for active members.

Instead, we engage your entire employee population with targeted intervention strategies.

We foster motivation in your workforce. We coach and guide your employees, from the sedentary to the athletic.

Because every employee can improve their activity level and their lifestyle.

We have achieved utilization averages that are 15% higher than the average among industry leaders.

When asked to identify their top-three challenges from a list of 13 items, participation was selected by over 70% -- far ahead of budget (36%) and culture changes (35%).1

69% of employers believe that motivating employees to change health behaviors will be a significant focus over the next three to five years.2

Fitness and Amenity Design and Development

Our innovative team of experienced professionals can help you develop a creative, cutting edge and functional space designed to engage your population.

Our clients choose us because they know that what we do adds real value to their project, from deciding how big the center should be, to the precise selection of equipment, finishes, wall graphics, etc. We know how to create a facility that meets your unique needs. Let us prove it!

With over 25 years of experience, averaging over 20 projects a year, we provide expert knowledge and experience for every design and development project.

Our process starts with a full financial feasibility study. We outline all revenue sources and expenses to show you the financial viability of your investment. We also do a demographic analysis of your eligible population to determine your membership base, peak load, and expected active penetration rates.

We then work with your team to design a custom solution that ensures that you get the most value for your investment. We help you build an appropriately sized center and outfit it with the right equipment. Along the way, we work closely with contractors, architects, construction teams, and interior-design experts to guide them through the entire process.

With LifeStart leading your efforts, you'll have peace of mind knowing that your investment is in good hands.

Nobody who ever gave his best
regretted it

Technology

LifeStart invests heavily in technology to achieve the optimal member experience and to build a sense of community and engagement at your property. We integrate with the best-of-breed technology vendors. And when our vision is too far ahead of the market, we design and develop our own systems in-house.

For example, our member portal can be customized and white-labeled with your company or building brand, and we can even deploy custom branded apps for your property to the App Store and Google Play, at no extra charge.

Our technology allows us to view and react to events at our fitness and amenity centers across the nation in real time. We produce automated dashboard analytics for our customers that show utilization and engagement trends, allowing us to constantly customize and improve your site's programming.

We can even integrate with physical devices in your building, for example, by tying into your keycard reader and logging member visits to our operating platform. We've also developed API integrations with all major machine manufactures, allowing us to show a real-time rendering of machine usage in the center.

Finally, we use technology to provide additional services to building tenants who are not members of the fitness center. Through our Momentum Health offering, for example, we can host full biometric screening events, flu shots, and even COVID-19 antibody and PCR swab tests, via our completely paperless web/app platform.

Some people want it to happen
Some wish it would happen
Others make it happen

Corporate Wellness

LifeStart offers wellness programs that provide a compelling alternative to traditional fitness-center management practices. We integrate onsite fitness, health coaching, and nutrition services in a comprehensive wellness package, all in the service of strengthening participant engagement and reducing behaviors that drive chronic disease.

We employ full-time onsite health specialists at every fitness center. Our specialists create and promote a culture of well-being by scheduling, promoting, developing, and implementing health and well-being support programs at the worksite. They are exclusively responsible for implementing your organization's well-being improvement program by working directly with your entire population. In this way, our specialists act as an extension of your existing benefits, wellness, or HR organization.

Over 25 years of partnering with clients, LifeStart has delivered a full spectrum of high-value programs and provided lasting health outcomes to worksites as well as distributed workforces. Our customers gain accesss to the industry's widest range of proven and impactful wellness services.

LifeStart's wellness offerings are designed to inspire sustainable lifestyle changes. Our entire purpose is to guide and support our members as they work to achieve their optimal health. We accomplish this using a combination of annual assessments, preventative screenings, condition management, and health-coaching programs.

Finally, we track and measure all aspects of our members' wellness journey. We have invested in technologies that sustainably engage employees, motivate members, and improve efficiency. These technologies allow our customers to verifiably measure health outcomes, program impactfulness, member satisfaction, and financial savings.

Those who do not find time for exercise
will have to find time for illness

Now seven months later, after many sessions with Andy, Seara Mook, and Joy, I have lost 70 pounds and almost all of my aches and pains. By living a better and healthier lifestyle, I can do more for my family as we fight together to beat cancer.

Shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown in 2020, my seven-year-old son was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, a very treatable form of childhood cancer, with a very long and grueling treatment plan. The plan began immediately upon his diagnosis and we were informed by his doctors that the first nine months of the three-year treatment program would be the most intense. During this time, we spent more than 75 nights in the hospital and too many visits to count. I had put my health and wellbeing aside trying to survive and get our family through the hardest parts of his treatment. I had gained more than 40 pounds and found a lot of new aches and pains that were making it hard for me to walk and were keeping me up almost every night. Once I had heard they were going to reopen our fitness center at the Timken WHQ, I decided to start focusing more on my personal health and wellbeing.  I hired Andy Kessler to help me design a workout routine that would help me lose the extra weight and alleviate some of my new aches and pains.  I also started meeting with our dietitian, Joy Benjamin, to learn how to live and eat healthier.  Now seven months later, after many sessions with Andy, Seara Mook, and Joy, I have lost 70 pounds and almost all of my aches and pains. By living a better and healthier lifestyle, I can do more for my family as we fight together to beat cancer. I'm looking forward to continuing my weight loss and staying on my journey to a healthier life.

Our company's proactive approach to providing wellness programs for our employees dovetails with LifeStart's philosophy. LifeStart has been a great fit for us, and I'd recommend them to any other company that wants a professional approach to wellness.

Nurse and Health Coordinator Fortune 500 Beverage Company

With LifeStart's direction, not only did our facility achieve a whole new look and feel, but their business acumen and core values have been a great fit with our organization.

Senior Asset Manager Fortune 500 Private Investment and Development Company

With our previous operator, we never saw anyone from the Corporate Office, unless there was a problem. LifeStart's team is readily available, providing us with a comprehensive monthly review of the operations insuring that we are informed of the finances, utilization and programming of the center.

Vice President, International Commercial Real Estate Investment Development and Management Company

LifeStart's general manager really transformed our gym and improved everything from the equipment to the group fitness classes when he took over. The attention to detail was definitely noticeable and, as a regular gym member, continues to be appreciated. And this is important to many of us, as going to the gym can be the best part of our day!

As I'm sure you are aware, it is rejuvenating for us to be able to work out during our workday. It's so nice to be able to get away from the stress and get a workout in. And it's truly awesome to be able to work out in a gym that is right upstairs, is clean, has functioning and constantly improving equipment, and a team who really take care of us and care about our fitness.

Overview

LifeStart exists to engage and motivate the corporate workforce. We create customized, compelling environments where employees can exercise, relax, and socialize with their colleagues.

With more than 100 locations across the country, we have the depth and experience to accommodate the unique needs of any property manager or building owner.

We work with a diverse range of clients, from Class A office buildings to rural manufacturing facilities, from Silicon Valley to Boston, and from Chicago to rural Arkansas. Our centers range from 1,800 to 110,000 square feet.

Whatever your workforce demographic, whatever your available space, we have the expertise to make your fitness center a reality.

History

In the thirty years since its founding in 1991, LifeStart has grown to manage the largest portfolio of corporate fitness centers in multi-tenant buildings in the entire nation.

We expanded our service offerings in 2000 to include management of owner-occupied facilities. The company now manages onsite fitness centers for a variety of companies, from Fortune 500 firms to regional manufacturing companies, with utilization rates up to 67% higher than the industry average.

Beginning in 2012, we partnered with the leading national provider of corporate health clinics to create integrated onsite wellness hubs. These hubs offer best-of-breed health coaching and consultation from registered nurses, registered dietitians, and exercise specialists.

Recognizing the critical importance of corporate wellness, we acquired Momentum Health in 2016 to provide onsite biometric screenings and outcomes-based, health-contingent incentive programs to corporate clients.

In 2020, LifeStart was acquired by WTS International, a global leader in luxury amenity consulting and management for hotels, resorts, office towers and residential communities.
